Picking someone in your community to interview can be very difficult. In deciding who to approach for our book, we were constantly arguing about who should be in the book and who shouldn’t. Here are two questions that should help you figure out who to approach:

What kind of a person do you think you might want to be in your life? Everyone has their own personal definition of “success.” Try to think about the kinds of things that you value in others. List these qualities and try to look for someone who might embody them.

Who do you think has made the biggest and most positive impact on your community? Community can be defined in many ways. It can be your neighbourhood, your town, your city, your ethnic or religious community, your county, your province, or even your country. These individuals are not always those who get the most attention, so think long and hard about this one.

Hopefully, these questions will help clear your mind and hone in on the type of person you’ll want to approach for an interview.
