Reclaim Mobility With The Kickstart Walking System

Who is Kickstart for?

If you’re recovering from a stroke, spinal cord injury, or have a neurological condition such as multiple sclerosis and need help to maintain your mobility, Kickstart is made specifically to help you walk again and rediscover a more independent lifestyle.

Use Kickstart to:

  • Enable walking and improved independence, at home and in the community

  • Enhance endurance, balance and control for walking and standing

  • Guide correct gait patterns and reduce compensations

  • Improve stability and alignment

EXOTENDON® Technology

The Exotendon® Technology functions like an artificial tendon to store and release energy to provide walk stability and assist limb forword throughout the gait cycle without the cost or complexity of electronics. By propelling and guiding the limb to swing correctly, the device reinforces and re-trains proper walking motions for each step, helping users to regain and maintain a natural, efficient stride.

Storing energy during
the stance phase

Releasing energy during
the swing phase

Propelling the leg
and controlling gait

Aligning hip flexion, knee flexion
and foot clearance

An initial adaptation period is normal. As your body adjusts, Kickstart helps activate and strengthen key muscles to support improved mobility, stability, and walking performance.

Clinically Proven

A study published in the Journal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation tested Kickstart in 46 subacute stroke patients to see if it improves walking recovery compared to conventional rehabilitation. Both groups received standard therapy, but the Kickstart group also trained with the device for 20 minutes daily. After 4 and 8 weeks, patients using Kickstart showed greater gains in lower limb motor function, muscle strength (especially iliopsoas and rectus femoris), and reduced fatigue.

Budget Impact Analysis

Kickstart implementation may yield substantial cost savings by reducing rehabilitation length of stay while improving system capacity and efficiency. These findings support further real-world evaluation to validate projected benefits.
